Israel is breaking international law and the U.S. is backing them with money to buy our weapons.

It is sad to say the least that our news sources ignore the fact that Israel is occupying Palestine, and seem to poise them as merely defending themselves when you hear about Palestine deaths. They destroy hundreds upon hundreds of Palestinian homes, and kill a whole lot of civilians.

What they are doing is deplorable to say the least and we all should be ashamed that the United States supports them.

Oh wait, what they're doing kind of reminds me of a little something our oh so wonderful country is doing that is heinous. /sigh

I'm Palestinian and it breaks my heart everytime i see this tragic. It's funny how Israel uses all these destructable weapons, when nobody supports us with anything but a few rocks. Yet, they have the balls to strictly aim at us and demolish tons of buildings. It was our country at first in 1948. Jews got dropped off at our country,Palestine, now they are trying to occupy everything. It's rediculous and I can't stress that enough. Just the fact of them using these military weapons against us is ignorant & sad. Disrespectful and no pity is shown. I went to Palestine for a vacation, there were too many security and all of them were Israelis checking on Palestinians. Palestinians are very nice people, holy, and respectable. Look at what Palestinians do nowadays, ******* bombers. Can you imagine having a bomb strapped around your body and setting it off at a building? Everyday, you see a new ******* bomber killing a group of jews. if you honestly think about it, these Palestinians have the heart and soul for this country. Israels are just evil.It just shows how Palestinians put up with on a daily basis, and those pics are nothing compared to what is there at Palestine. It is much more tragic and truthfully sad. I have a friend at my college, who is jewish. He totally understands and even confronted me that Israel is just being greedy and taking advantage of it. He was ashamed of the war thats happening and wished never to become part of Israel. It's like a bunch of high school teens picking on a group of 3rd graders. Israel is evil, plain and simple.

Palestenians: "We just captured one of your soldiers, and we aren't giving him back unless you release some Palestenians."

Israel: "F*ck you, we aren't giving you shit and we're taking our soldier back by force... don't ever try that shit again."

Thats basically the jist of it...

I think there on slippery slope to war //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
That would be the quickest "war" ever. Israel could wipe them completely off the map in under an hour.

=IMO israel is breaking all kinds of international law.

Never has the capture of one soldier lead to bombed locales, destroyed major raodways, water mains lock up, sea port access denied, airport destroyed, electrical plant shut downs this will take YEARS to replace and repair

ask yourself why these infrastructure are being destroyed not just military locations ( ie becasue palestine does not have them hmmmm)

sorry this soldier thing is ploy. This has nothing to do with the first soldier being captured (who has already been killed by the way) this is about israel, and US intelligence not ever thinking hamas could ever win a democratic election, and now they need to rid palestine of its elected officials

or does the 60 or so captured government officials not signal that

seems a great use of our annual MILLIONS of taxpaper monies to israel

read it for yourself

http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/US-Israel/U.S._Assistance_to_Israel1.html

and then read up on Theodor Herzl, and the first israeli refugee loation (precursor to modern day Israel) planned for uganda

just a quick historical tidbit

1) Newtitan, can we please see your law diploma certifying you as an expert in international law? Until then, keep your opinions on the legality of the actions in your head, where they belong.

2) Ali1, Jews were "dropped off" in 1948 for the first time? If you've been to Israel, you know full well that that's a load of crap. If you actually know anything about Islam, then you also know full well that that's a load of crap. There is documented historical (secular) information and archaelological evidence of Jewish existence in Israel dating back hundreds upon hundreds of years. Dating back longer than Christian or Islamic claims to the land. How do I know this? Simple fact. Islam and Christianity spawned from Judaism. The three religions have a common base and split away around the time of Muhammed and Jesus (give or take a few decades).

3) Everyone, your tax dollars go everywhere, not just to Israel.

4) This is NOT over one single soldier having been captured. Sure it may have started as such, but since then (before each major Isareli military action) there have been other kidnappings, etc. Case in point, Wednesday's Hezbollah ambush, killing eight, injuring two and capturing two israeli soldiers. This was a cross-border attack, led by a paramilitary terrorist organization supported by the Lebanese government. In addition, a 19 year old Jewish settler was kidnapped and killed by the Hamas militants promtping the initial Israeli incursions and offensives.

The Israeli military makes it a part of their policy to avoid harm to noncombatants and to make every attempt to preserve inoccent lives. Unfortunately, the militant terrorists make no such considerations for human life. They bomb cafes, discos, markets, buses and other public places. Don't comdemn Israel for destroying infrastructure (which they built, as an aside), such as bridges and airport runways; these are targets of military and strategic importance with careful consideration played to the preservation of innocent life.

Israel has said, time and time again, that peace will only come to the country when attacks on its population end. If you ask me, the only way for Israel to assert her place in the region (and it IS her place, but that is neither here nor there in this debate), is to flex her military muscle and preserve her borders.

Look what happens when you run a country in a democratic, relatively secular manner; you end up with a strong economy, military power, and the ear of the United States. Look what happens when you run a theocracy or a government based solely on the destruction of Israel - you get blown up by, you guessed it, Israel. This is also what happens when you flick peas (in this case, home made rockets) at the big kid on the block (in this case Israel) every ****ed day. One day, they'll wake up and stomp you back into the ground from which you came.

On an aside, you call the Palestinian people a nice, holy and respectable one. Would a "nice, holy and respectable" group ever resort to the non-strategic bombings of civillian targets before all diplomatic channels had been exhausted? Don't say that they have been, because they have not. Hamas and other Palestinian groups choose to not explore diplomatic, non-violent means of conflict resolution. Instead, they blow up people on their way to work, or shopping for their groceries.

And we're supposed to pity them?

Ever since Hammas (sp?) gained control of the government there I knew it was eventually going to lead to a Katy-bar-the-door clusterf*ck of insanity between them and Isreal (especially considering their leader publicly stated his eventual goal of "removing Israel from the map of the world." //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

But they choose not to. Israel would much much rather see the voluntary release of their citizens without further military action. In this case, military action was likely seen as the "only" option. Hamas has a history of refusing to comply with Israeli demands or requests. What else can you expect from a party whose main running point was the destruction of Israel?

Hamas has realized that they're up shit's creek without a paddle, hence the reversal of policy on the "right to exist" front.

I post when it's pertinent to do so. I'm quite busy these days; I'm in my last semester of University, I just moved, and it's baseball season.

Ive been saying for years that backing isreal was the wrong thing to do. They are begger terrorists than the coutries they are fighting. Only difference is they are doing it with US hardware.
