Anyone else OCD about their keyboard?

I hate when anything is under the keys....i wash my keyboard at least once a week to keep all the crusties out from under the keys.

thats just the top plate.....the elctronics are in the bottom. I use canned air to blow it out after i wash it

If you Google "Keyboard in dishwasher" you get a ton of articles on how you can actually put most keyboards in your dishwasher to really clean them. I have not actually had the balls to try it myself yet though.

i have a dell key board that all i need to do is open it and take out the electronics then place the rubber and plastics in the dishwasher. cleans like a charm

i thought about the good ole dishwasher but just use a bottle brush instead

Does the dishwasher method work on laptop's as well? Or would it be better in the washer and then the dryer?

Can I mix it with darks and how much detergent should I use?

I dont wash my keyboard I got stains all over it. If crusties get in between I just keep pushin till it falls to the bottom.

I have an IBM Model M. I just pour muratic acid on mine and its fine.

Ok, not really acid, but yeah, I can take off all the keys, wash them in whatever, pop open the case and use canned air to blast out all the keyboard snacks.

I cleaned mine out the other day with some compressed air and some tweezers. It's weird how all that crap in there affects how the keys sound when you push them.

My work computer one is a mess because it seldom ever gets cleaned. There is so much dust on it, I am surprised it hasn't shat on us.
