Anyone else Drive like a Granny due to Gas Prices?

Average day I drive MAYBE 5-10 miles, thats to and from work and maybe to the store... so i would not notice much of a difference if i did drive slow
Yea, I drive a lot. 30 mile round trip to work, 10 mile round trip to gym, 200 mile round trip I make about 3 times a month to see some homies and pick some stuff up.

One thing that is nice is that my house is right by the exit and so is my work so its mainly interstate driving..

You do that around town? Thats f*cked up. Some people get mad at me for just doing the speed limit around town, O well f*ck you! Gas is 4+ a gallon.

I never speed around town but on the highway my car doesn't even hit it's stride until 80mph. Must be a German thing because the car doesn't even feel right at anything below 80mph. I still average 22mpg city/hwy combined V8 engine and all.

I'm able to get 35 - 37 MPG on my dash gauge taking it easy with AC off in the GTI - so I've been taking it pretty easy since I started paying $4.35 a gallon for 93 octane.
If I needed premium I would die, lol. Worst I have seen for for premium here is $4.55/gal in the Upper Peninsula, down where I live its about $4.25/gal for premium, but obviously will be going up with todays oil trading.

I went up to Houghton this past weekend, where Michigan Tech is, a 1100 mile round trip that I make 6 or 7 times a year, a 200 mile round trip is a joke.

first off. i dont really think he was trying to start a competition with you like you obviously took it.

secondly, do the math, they're about the same distance.

Lol, I was just saying, he sounded like he thought driving 200 miles every few weeks was special, lol. Lets say he does it 24 times, that 4800 mile, I do mine 7 time, that 7700 miles, about 3000 miles more, or about 10 fill ups more for me.
