Any way to get 220v through a 110v outlet?

IIRC, a 220 v breaker just basically takes up 2 slots in your breaker box.

Then you just basically connect up the wires to your plug in from the breaker.

Its been awhile since I did it, so if you need me to, I can pull off my breaker box cover and take a peek.

Its like wiring it in series instead of parallel...

You have 2 lines of power coming into the breaker box

portions of the home. There are three different combinations:

1) one hot, one neutral, and ground: 110V circuit.

2) two hots, no neutral, and ground: 220V circuit.

Yup.

Honestly, if you are completely lost...I would suggest going into HD and telling them what you are doing. They know enough to atleast point in the proper direction for appropriate breakers/wiring/etc, and general installation tips. It really isn't hard...the biggest "watch yourself" thing is actually fooling around within the breaker box.

You could always get everything ran yourself and just pay an electrician to come over and make the actual connection in the box (and double check your wiring)....wouldn't imagine it would cost that much as you are doing most of the time-consuming physical labor yourself.
