Began to build out my system before I found this forum, and as a result, the bar is set way higher than I'd imagine for my first try.
I'm alternately happy that I'm targeting quality products while my wallet is crying with each purchase. Here's what I have so far:
Clarion MAX675VDII HU (i like the ipod interface)
AudioControl EQX
DLS UP6 comps
2 Sundown SD-1 10" subs
AudioQue 1200D
I'm still undecided as to what amp to power my front stage. I read with great interest TCguy85's build log where he used an active soundstage and was leaning towards the same idea.
The amps I had in mind originally were:
Digital Designs S4A
Sundown SAX-100.4
Elemental Designs Nine.5 (I know about the extra sub channel here)
DLS Ultimate A4
DLS Reference RA40
Just noticed the Alpine PDX 4.150 compares favorably to these guys.
Outside of price differences, would I lose tremendously from choosing any amp up there compared to the others?
Right now, I'm thinking the Alpine PDX from reviews I've read, though I've still got a boner for the DD S4 and the DLS Ultimate A4.
