You haven't hit 160 yet.

Bro your like 40+ year old and still haven't broke a 140db... u need a new hobby //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

duely noted. forgot the standard keep increasing. Its probably 170 by 2018.

Naw once u get 160s then next goal is 62s lol

Just grab a CAB Ultra an the Cab 1600.1 an be done with it, you'll have headroom if you decide to add another sub etc an you won't have to stress the amp trying to get the rms your looking for.

THATS WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING (well not the ultra).. run at 4ohm supper clean and plenty of power for daily driver., just wish they had a 700.1 at 2 ohms cheaper.. that 1600 is amazing looking just way more power than i need..

Ive hardly even turned on my amp/sub for passed 4 yrs, like i said i only drive 30 mins a week at most.. when i worked at stereo shop i had "pretty" chrome amp for show and advertisement and had 2-250-300 rms subs mostly memphis because that what owner wanted to sell 1000's of.., and i ain't never wanted to be over like 142 and now cant afford it anyway..

Dude just run at 1 ohm, keep the gains low and you'll see very little power. 4 ohms doesnt make you any cleaner than 1 ohm. in fact you might clip even faster if you want more output and 4 ohms isnt enough power.

You directly control the power output VIA gain setting. Just because you have 1600.1 doesnt mean you have to use all of it. A big amp sitting back barely lifting a finger will always have much cleaner output than a smaller overworked amp at 100% all the times. Not to mention lasting a lot longer, keeping a lot cooler, maintaining better efficiency ETC...

You can easily run a 5000 watt rms amp to a 250 watt rms sub with zero issues if you set everything properly, its always better to have A LOT of head room rather than zero headroom plus high expectations.

There's ALWAYS a good reason why we recommend getting so much more power buddy. Its overall better for the system health. get the 1600.1, use around 600-1000 watts and the amp should last you years.

If I do get that amp i'll probably just run at 2 ohm and if cab 1600 does 1255rms @2 ohm (and set gain low even then 40% maybe) that's more than rated sub power and more than twice what I have now (autotek is at 60% but using sub volume) and that cab amp set like that should last 20 yrs.. I may get a sub 1st looking at the cab and 500rms American bass, thought about sundown e but heard sq not as good idk., but as far as mms goes looks like these other subs have lower mms than my orion so doesn't that mean they be easier to push?

40% gain is not a thing. You can use a DMM to set power

And sound quality is install dependent.

sure it is I do it all the time lol.. yeah I know box determines most of how "tight" sub is or how low it plays and all.. so the E may sound just as good as rest in my box idk..

Again you wire at 2 ohms you will see around 300 to 400 watts after rise. Does none of this register to you? The sub laughs at 1200 watts from what kr15 says and it was in a larger side box as well. Youll want to 1 ohm the sub period. Not sure why you are soo hell bent on higher ohm load wiring., You lower the gain and sub level down and it will be a few hundred watts every bit as efficient and easy on your electrical setup as 2 or 4 ohms. The sub is beyond your conprehension in terms of power handling as well bud. Kr 15 ran it, he can tell you what the sub can do and what abuse it can take.

Also 40% or 60% gain means nothing. Gain is to match head unit preout. Not a percentage.

I wouldnt bother with the ultra 12 at 2ohm. Wire to 1 and leave headroom if its your perogative.

If they made d1 ultras, id personally wire to 0.5, but I like to abuse equipment.

Wire to 1, set it nice and clean. Thank us later
