Any point in strapping two amps to two subs?

I finally got my two AQ 1200D's and plan on wiring everything up tomorrow. The two BL's are dual 2's. Should I strap them together or just run each sub to each amp?

If I do strap them, I just go from the positives on master amp to the each positive on the terminal for the subs and the positives on the slave amp to the each negative on the terminal, and then just connect the negatives from both the master and slave amps correct?

The only benefit of strapping would be that I could just use one bass knob and the gains and settings would just be ran off the master amp right?

the knob and settings are right, but your wiring is slightly wrong i think, wire each sub in series, then parallel the subs together. then Pos to master amp Pos, and Neg to slave amp Pos, and then the negatives of both amps together

Just run each sub to each amp, IMO makes things easier. Thats the way i've always done things when using more than 1 amp.
What about the adjustments on the amps. Is the Master amp the only one you need to worry about when you strap them together? Gain control and freq cutoffs... What about the remote gain knobs, Only use the Master amp controls for this too?

I would strap them just so you know that each sub is getting the same power. Plus it only has half as many adjustments needed to the amps when tuning. I assume they are 1 ohm stable amps mono, so strapped they are 2 ohm stable which is fine with dual 2 subs.

double the power at twice the load? 1200@1 per amp goes to 2400@2

read the manual or call AQ before incorrectly strapping your amps!!!!

with that being said, all the amps I've seen have been:

connect the negative speaker outputs together from amp to amp(both of them).

Use the + from one amp and the + from the other amp as your + and - speaker terminals.

RCAs go from HU to master amp only.

Set master and slave settings on the switches for each amp.

connect the 'binding' RCA from amp 1 to amp 2.

From the strapped amps I've seen, the master amp settings override the slave settings but I've not set up an AQ pair.

Wow this is old, I already set them up for each amp to each sub and it is definitely louder then when my directed 2400D was hooked up.

I did not want to start another thread for this question so I added my question to yours.
IC yea thats cool, but yea when the amps are strapped you just have to set the settings on the master amp and the bass knob from the master amp controls both also.
