any ideas on what going on with my amp?

i got a problem with my speaker amp(diamond d3 400.4). When i drove my car for about 30 mins and changed my cd to another one, i would not hear any sound from the speakers for a good 5 mins. Then out of nowhere, the music is heard again. anybody could diagnose this problem?
