I just got the Tankless water heater installed for my slab heat in my new garage, and Its throwing an error code at me, Its either s1 or 51 i believe.. I THINK it had something to do with the pressure of the water antifreeze mix not getting circulated fast enough, as the pilot will stay lit for about 20-30 minutes and then die out.. Any ideas>?

I cant find the link to my richmond, but this looks exactly like it, and is about what i paid, And I think Rheem is also a part of richmond as the model #s look pretty similar

Whao. Those things are running around $1000 a unit now?!?
Yea, for a big one , But its so worth it in the long run.. This one is feeding ( well once i figure out the issue ) a 24x36 slab.. Its like new HDTVs, your gonna get a better deal when you buy the larger more "unpractical " ones. This one is only 200 more than one that puts out 1/2 the BTU and only uses 10% less propane, So it was worth the jump.. Kind of a confusing setup ( well at least for me ) but I cant wait til its up and running

****ing ballin out of control homey! I can't wait for my old school water tank heater to go out in that case! I always wanted a wall mounted one like you have there but thought they were like 5 grand or some shit. I love it when technology takes over the mighty dollar. Would be nice to have that square footage in the garage back, nawmean.

Yea man its coming along.. The -10 below 0 sucks to work in but at least the garage is up.. Gives me something to do for the layoff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

With all that construction there, I bet it has a low air flow sensor tripped. Check for a filter and clean it.
Pulled out and cleaned some filter that was tied into the water line , some must have gotten into the pipes in the ground, but I bled it pretty good..

Thanks for looking out man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif , I found that same thing after about an hour of searching for error codes last night, ( which is not that easy btw ) and luckily have the 66 series not the 74, Did you find a list of all error codes for the richmond I have? Or the Rheem tha basically has the identical model #?

i do no for sure that your gas feed should be what the unit has for a output..meaning that the gas connection on your tasnkless is 3/4 but the plunber ran 1/2..not sure if propane is different cause i havent ran a propane yet but for natural it has to be 3/4 or it wont run correctly, will keep trippin a error code and will also shake(rumble) the unit then start beebing for code

Also to add, how far are you away from your gas meter. If it's a long distance away, you should use the pipe sizing chart to determind what size pipe to use to support the BTU's the water heater is using. also it should be the full pipe size all the way up to the water heater. I see that it's a close loop system, then again you could have air still in the line causing an air lock.

Well I did everything with a guy I used to work with.. It was stubbed ito the wall @ 3/4 then reduced to 1/2 , Im not sure if the tank had a 1/2 inch inlet or what but it had to be reduced.. Which made me think I might need a new regulator on the outside because that one was set for 3/4.. Or am I wrong?

Oh and its propane

shit now i cant remember.. Maybe it came in at 1/2 then needed 3/4... Either way its working now , its been running that tankless for almost 30 hrs straight which isnt what its really made for but it works and was quiet as can be the whole time , ( first time heatup on the slab.. And its currently -10 degrees:crap: , So it took a while Now the slab is pretty warm for the most part and its sitting at about 65 degrees in there..
