Any Criticism on this box?

I'm building a brand new box for my HDC312. Did the actual calculations on the box that I originally built and I thought it would be tuned to 36 but the math works out to like 43 (yea, whoops!).

Anyways, I took the time to learn how to calculate this stuff, used torres box calc, and drew it up in sketchup. Any final criticisms before I build this thing?

Common port walls should be 3. And that port area needs to be upped a little, 15-16sq in per cube would be nice for a daily box.

Towards the port or away from the port? How far away? How much does it affect sound?

Is this any better? Higher tuning and lower net volume but 17.5 port per foot. How does this look in comparison?

You don't want the sub to be directly in front of the port opening on the inside of the box.

2.5 cubes. 32-33 hz, 16 in^2.

The EXACT location of the sub will not matter much as long as the entire rear of your sub is loading off of the rear port wall and not into the opening / rear main wall of the enclosure...

Okay so I've taken all your suggestions: Tell me what you think. I'll post Sketchup in a bit.

Question: what does "physical port length" really mean? Am I going 10 inches into the box, then 23 inches to the left (for port length of 33) or am I using the 28inch length and going like 10 inches in, 18 inches to the left? I'm a little confused about that.

You mean sub up and port back? I have a hatchback and I hear that way sounds better, but I constantly use the little trunk space I have, I don't want the port get blocked off.

measure they physical distance from the center of the port. So start where the inside wall starts, go straight down the port until you at the middle of the turn, and then out to the edge of the port. That's a good approximation of your actual port length.
