Any 2-ohm mids other than ID?

Dont know if they're better, but theres some old (pre buyout, but new) 2 ohm Orion HCCA 6.5" mids on eBay.

Any current production items?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to order a set of CDT M6 mids with the drt-26 braxial mounted tweeters which would run 230x2@4 ohms off my amp, but I have one other idea to consider before I place my order. Thinking about a set of ID CXS62 comps running active. With this setup I'd have 75x2@4 ohms to the tweeters and 115x2@ 2 ohms to the mids. Unfortunately I haven't had the oppurtunity to audition either set so I'm going purely on reviews and suggestions from other users. The CDT set looks to be the better of the two overall, but I do like the option to run active with the ID's. I could run active with the CDT's also, but 75 watts seems awefully low for those M6 mids. That make any sense at all? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Seeing as how this setup is just a daily driver that will never see a comp. and that I have pretty much no experience tuning an audio system, the passive setup with the CDT's will probably be a bit less of a headache.

There are some 3 - ohm components out there.

But amplifier power, watts are cheap?

And by the way... Image has new improved comps coming to replace the old... SX series... should be out anytime... available in 2 ohm also.

I was just suggesting that to get more SPL, if that's what you are after, you could buy a bigger amp... just an alternative to 2-ohm speakers.

Another speaker you might want to check out is the Orion P6.2 - they are 3 - ohms... but they are discontinued this year... but perhaps you could still find a pair. Great bang for the buck.

This is a SQ oriented system, I was just looking at options to get a bit more power to the mids. I'd like to run active, but my first choice of components are the CDT's and the RMS rating on the M6 mid is 150. Like I said earlier, I'll probably just go passive and save myself some tuning. Especially since I don't know how to tune it anyway. I'm going to pick up a better headunit with equalizing cababilities and that should be plenty for my purposes.
