OK.........I THINK I GOT IT I think that my amp is stilll getting current after the car is off because of the fuses when i got my stuff installed i specifically said for the installer to hook up my subs at 1ohm and for them to use 2 spots on the distribution block and put 40 amps fuses in each because my amp is externally fused at 80 amps and they were like i could get a 80 amp fuse that type but they said its hard to get new ones when those blow so i was like ok use up 2 spots.............. and guess what? they only used one spot with a 60 amp fuse its probably a 40 amp fuse im gonna check to see if its blow in a second could this be the reason that my car battery is being drained when its off ?:

The fuse size has nothing to do with getting power after the car is off.. nothing at all..

If the amps are still drawing power then they havn't been turned off.. but I'd immagine that the 'remote on' wire has no juice either, if it's hooked up to the HU.. if not, maybe the remote on wire is supplying juice to the amps telling them to stay on even when the stereo is off.. You might want to check the remote on wire.. if there is no juice on it when the car is off and the amps are on, I'd guess the on/off circuts might be bad.. if the amps are off and you are losing juice, you might have a short someplace or something else is draining the system..

Basically, you need to find out why the amps are on after the car is off.. keeping in mind that fuses have nothing to do with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hope that helps..

yeh but If ther fuse shorted out............it looks like both of the amps turn off but something is still drawing a current if the fuse is blown....... would that matter or could it be the circut breaker I have?

If the fuse 'blew', it wouldn't let any current pass... that's what they are designed for, to break the connection if too much juice trys to pass through it..

As for the 'circuit breaker'.. not sure, it could draw current if the internals were shorted to the casing, but I'd think you'd see some magic smoke come out of it.. chances are it's not the breaker..

You can try removing the fuses from the disto block for the amps.. see if you still get power drain (if not, the amps might look off but they aren't).. if you get drain and the amps are completely removed from the power source, something else is drawing power.. If the drain goes away when the fuses are removed, then the amps probably aren't properly shutting down, they just look like they are off..

How long does it take for the deep cycle and regular battery to drain?

the deep cycle lasted 2 days after i fisrt put it in till i had to geta a jump the regular lasted a day so i should disconnect the fuses.............. then if no power is drained disconect the amp? izI have a hifonics hercules amp and its externally fused does this have anything to do with it?

I'm not familiar with adding another battery to a system.. there might be an issue there (you have to isolate the battery somehow or something?)..

Anyway.. if you pull the fuses and the power drain stops, you can be pretty sure it's something wrong in the amps. If you still have drain with the amp fuses pulled, you might have a problem with the way the batteries are hooked up..

I doubt the amp being externally fused has anything to do with it.. I'm not exactly sure what that means (externally fused), but my guess is that it's just a different way to run fuses.. some electronics might have a fuse internally (requires taking off the cover to replace them), others have a fuse outside the case (stick it into a slot/etc )..

Anyway, try to isolate the problem.. is it the amps or not.. to find out, remove them from the power system and see what happens..

hmmm ok its not the audio system...... I took out the fuses same problem.... so hers wahat i think is wrong thew same thing happened when I had my car before i got it fixed....... my battery kept draining so im gonna go get it all fixed againim thinking its an internal sensor problemso looks like ill be spending another 600 dollarws to get it fixedits colol tho ill have them check the alternator also thx for the help man hey i live in Denver u live int the springs..... and im gonna be trying to get at this gil who lives there do u have a shop....im never ever gonna take my stuff to quality auto sound again

No, sorry.. no shop.. and don't know much about electrical systems (as far as the adding of a second battery, etc). Just glad we were able to narrow down your problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Good luck getting it fixed..
