Ok so I need a new sub. Here is what I am looking for.

SQL I wanted it to be loud but not sound like crap.

It will be powered of a sundown 1500d so something around the 1200 to 1500rms area. I dont want anymore Fi subs, not that I dont like them to be honest I love them but they are all Ive owned in the last year so I just want something new. It will have about 3 cubes. and will be goin in a ported enclosur and tuned to 33hz. I will spend up to 400 shipped in the end.

Only sub I looked into so far was the hdc3 so any other ideas on what to look at. I was thinking DD but I keep hearing SQ on them blows.

JBL W12GTi MKII, amazing SQ, can take a crap load of power
But a single Dual 6 ohm sub would not get much power out of a 1500D.

My vote is for a DD 2512 or a Stereo Integrity Mag. I think the Mag would be best for you.

I still say get a Mag if you want to get loud and have some SQ

I have loved by DDs, but apparently they don't sound good. Good enough for me though.

I wish I had one of the bigger subs I used to have. It would match perfect to that 1500D, especially since I never had it in a big enough box.

A 3 ohm load with a 1500D is quite enough power in an SQ application.
A 3 ohm nominal load on a 1500d? That's 600 rms. After impedance rise and efficiency, he's looking at close to 400 rms out of a 1500 watt amp. Sure it's enough for a musical substage, but he wants it to be loud, too. I just doubt that would be enough output for him. Plus it would be a waste of money to have a SAZ 1500D only putting out 400 rms.

Impedance rise is enclosure dependent...and efficiency doesn't come into this discussion at all. We're not talking about the amount of power needed to make a certain output, only the output itself...

Possibly, but he would have tons of dynamic headroom with that, and if he ever added another driver and lowered the impedance, the amp would be ready //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
