im in the same boat as you. i also have alpine type rs, but the 10 inch but its teh same exact power 600rms 1800 peak.

i was looking at hifonics brutus but everyone says its not good here :/

do a little research to find the power you need/want, set a budget, and get what you think will supply your need the best. as you can tell, this can be a hot topic issue. i had an apsm1300-audiopipe, at 2ohms/600wrms on a mb quart 15 and it did pretty good, sounded better than the kicker dx1000/1000wrms@2ohms that replaced it. i now have a rf t1000bdcp on a rf t212d4. i like to have just a little more power than rated for some headroom. most would agree with that last statement.

Really?I thought they were rated 600wrms a piece,didnt think they could take more than rated.

a friend of mine had a set hooked to a sundown 1500 @ .5ohm and they are holding up jus fine

Awesome amps, they are right below sundown/dc etc. in terms of quality. Mine doesn't get warm at all even if I'm getting voltage drop
