i'll have to check out the dd's.... i figured cali was just being a smartass. what about the w7's? if i ran them i'd either hide them completly or invert them (which might be a *****).

Solid 8's. Great output and SQ. Though, they are 3times the price of other contendors.

My all around choice, considering: price, output, reliability, SQ... would probably be a pair of Assassin 8's.

The first gen's you could HAMMER on... and sounded great. And the new ones are only better.

I dont know what your thoughts are on the ED 8K subs. But I am going to be selling mine as soon as I take some pictures of them. I have 3 of them. As well as a pair of IDMAX 10's if your interested just let me know.

fwiw....selling the eDs are impossible at best. Since you can get them from eD for $55....

I was basically going to give them away....

I use the 1508s now....extremely beefy sub. You don't realize how poorly the eDs are built until you have a comparison.

I still like the rl-i

Reason being is the DVC config....you can get a cheaper mono amp to run a pair.

With the SVC you will need an amp that does good power at 2 ohms. Although kicker and a few other places offer amps that do good,stable power at 2 ohms.

Maybe KX1200.1 and two rl-is?

Problem is the kicker is a larger amp.

I thought I read they were...but I remember the old ones were SVC.

If anyone can confirm DVC.I would run the assasins since they are about $100 cheaper on the pair.

at the moment it's looking like 4 RL-i's. I know i said i only wanted two. but i really want to run 8's and i need the output. probably run 1kw to the substage, if thats not enough i'll throw 2kw at them. Hope thats not the case though. Any new ideas or thoughts are still very much appreciated. or if SI wants to go ahead and make those mag 8"s that will due too.

There were some assassins for a good price in the classifieds. Cant go wrong with 4-8 assassins. They'll eat some power up and get loud and sound good doing it. Although, if I would have had more money at the time I bought mine, I would have gone with DD's. Maybe try out the new Assassins and let us know how you like them...?
