Another system build...opinions?

Ok, so I'm trying to re-work a system build for a friend after X-mas.

The goal is to have good low end response, strong mid, and a decent component set for a budget system in mind.

Keeping it simple I have:

Multi-channel amp: Eclipse XA5000 - 400$

Front Components: Phoenix Gold ZR 6.5" - 100$

Rear Midbass Woofers: CDT 4" or 5.25" Midwoofers = 100$

12" Subwoofer: Pioneer TSW-306DVC - 100$

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-7800MP - 270$

Sound deadener: Raamat - 150$

Total = 1100$ before I bargain shop. I'd say I could easily pull 900$ after bargain buying.

Any opinions? Approval? Any items that could be subtracted for cheaper prices YET same quality sound? (relatively?)

Can the Pioneer (DVC 4 ohm) be wired down to a 2 ohm load?

Bump...someone on here has to have some opinions on this setup...

I figure Eclipse amps are always reviewed well, Phoenix Gold is the same, Pioneer is good at all, master of none, And CDT didn't have to be great, just needed to work.

for that $100 you are spending on that pioneer, you can get a 15" kicker CVR, or a 12" for 75. They are a much better sub imo.

The Pioneer sub is actually 100$ after shipping. Plus, it is 2 ohm at 400 watts, which fits the Eclipse unit perfectly. I looked through Kicker, being a Kicker owner myself, but the Pioneer won out on price per specs.

I had the Comp VR SVC 2 ohm 10" myself, and I couldn't kill it with all the clipped signal I had to be sending it. It now rests in the SO's trunk hooked into a GM-7200...still thumps great!
