another sundown vs aq thread?

We don't normally do the "upgrade" thing here or trade-ins.
The Sundown 1200 > AQ 1200 in power output period.

AQ1200 = Sundown SAZ-1000D, about 1100 watts. Why they called it a 1200 I don't know. The SAE-1200 is really a SAE-1500. Just FYI.
It's cool, I figured it was worth a try. I'm sure I will be more than happy with this amp, and could possibly be the last brand I buy.

I sqeezed almost 1500 out of it with a rise to 2.8 ohms in a max power test.

Note also about 800 watts @ 2 ohms unclipped.

And those numbers are for real and at 12.5V. Tested with my Fluke meters.
yeah, I've seen that thread before with the test results. I need to reasearch imp rise because that is something I honestly know very little about. My subs will be wired to 1 ohm, any idea how much output I will get, or was your testing done with a nominal 1ohm load, with the rise to 2.8? The test Jacob did, had a .5 nominal load on the amp with an output of like 1700 I think. Anyways, thanks for the replies.

Well, impedance rise is only important in loading your amp down hard to get more power, doesn't mean if you have a high impedance rise that your sub/enclosure won't be loud, I don't think those two are that closely related IMO.

Not saying AQ is bad, it's not, it's just that their 1200 is not the SAME as the SAE-1200D like I think the OP was saying way back 8 or so pages ago...

Order 3 is getting 1 remote, and that's it, there are no more unless Jacob has some more. If you take one apart you can likely build your own to match it if you know what you are doing there isn't much in there....

I am going to need parts for quite a few of these and I know they won't be here till at least Friday, possibly Monday. just FYI.

And for the guy who said that Sundown may be the last brand he buys, PLEASE don't judge Sundown by the SAE-1200D. It is their cheapest built amp. In no way related or reference to any of their other amps. Not saying it's bad, but it's not NEAR as good as the SAX and SAZ amps... Totally different. Hence the price difference... Often times YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! people have trouble understanding this concept, but more often than not the more you pay for something the better it is all the way around. I can tell you with Sundown this is true. Not just the product, as it is similar to others, with enhancements and upgrades that come from yours truly (dB-r's recommendations to Sundown for bettering their products, and Sundown acts upon them) but with the customer service, warranty etc also.

Eh, no big deal. Subwoofer control on my deck will do the same thing. Thanks for killing my expectations on the 1200D, j/k.

We'll see how it goes, hopefully it will stay in one piece and I wont have to upgrade for a while. At this price, I really hope I'm not getting what I pay for. I will be extremely happy if #4 is able to go out today and I can have it by fri. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Friday next week? Or tommorow? LOL.. I just checked the parts shipment tracking and shows they will be delivered on Monday August 3rd. Some more orders will likely ship as not all of them need parts, some just need soldering touchups or other small parts that I have in stock, but most of the mosfets I am out of stock on, but they are already coming, just won't be here till monday... like I said my rep is out on vacation that I normally deal with and the girl in his place wasn't quite as quick to get my order processed. Should have shipped out end of last week and would be here by now....
