Another satty enclosure build

I have done testing with "MDF" enclosures made with and with out screws..

an enclosure with out screws can be taken apart with a big hammer

one panel at a time..

with the enclosure with screws the panels have to be completely destroyed

to get it apart..

MDF is compressed layers..once you break the bond of the surface layer the

glue becomes useless and tha panels peel apart

my enclosures have a lifetime gaurantee so I use screws

^True...the screws would extend into the mdf and supply support that way...

This box is going to have 1000 rms I believe going to it, so I dont see it blowing its seems with that power....but yea, higher-powered setups I will definitely use bracing and also screws

I've built 3 x 15" boxes with 8,000 watts before without screws, and it worked just fine. If I had to warranty them, I would probably use screws also. I'd be more concerned about them breaking when taking them in and out of vehicles.

...On a related note, I ran my hand through an alternator belt once, it threw the belt and killed the engine. It took 26 stitches and broke all 3 of my fingers. I still don't have full flexibilty in that hand.
