Another "what do you think" post (Rainbow and Memphis)

So what do you guys think of this for a setup, I know you really shouldn't buy without listening but there are no good audio shops around where I live, I am thinking of running Rainbow SLX Deluxe 6.5 components up front, and their KX 6.6 coaxials in back powered by my Precision Power Black ice 4 channel runnin 95 watts X 4(not the greatest but I have it from my last car) and 2 memphis Power Reference 10's in a sealed box in the trunk(Hatch) powered by (another sad amp) an MB quart FX 1.600 (Claimed 600 watts at 2 ohm, but lets be honest...). Any impressions?

Amps are not all that bad and im assuming ur going for sq. what hu u running?

I am going to just run your basic JVC, always had good luck with em, I will probably upgrade to an EL Kameleon when I get more money for the higher preamp volts.

Why are you wanting rear speakers? What is your total budget?

about $900 or so, and technically I dont need to run rears, because I drive an 88 supra and its a pretty small cab, and I rarely have passengers. so for sq purposes I would probably be better off without em anyways I suppose.

Absolutely, and then you can use the money saved elsewhere.

With 900 and your current equipment I would personally get the following. This is all assuming that you would be willing to tackle an active setup. This would shit on the gear that you listed.

You will also need some sound deadening, and you should still be under 900.

I love it and would go active for sure, I mean I do have 4 channels on my amp, lol. Idk if thos mids would fit in my door however, they look deeeep. I have yet to measure but i would say no more than a 3 inch mounting depth. The other downside would be I would need a new sub amp at some point since my amp is only stable down to 2 ohms, but I like where you are going with the active set up.

Get the d4 sub and wire to 2 ohms. If the mids are too deep there are other options, and ways to add depth.

My amp only pushes 600 watts at 2ohms and I don't like underpowering my subs, and I could try n add depth but I don't wanna cut holes in my door panels due to keeping the look of the car. So the sub is the only down side, but I can make it work until i can afford a new amp.
