Would a five farad capacitor (i know call me a dick, douche, whatever when i first put together my system i got pushed into buying one) hinder a 1200 watts rms amp's performance?

What is your system?? i have about 1500 Watts and i dont run a cap i only here stupid things about them..

stock electrical system, alpine IDA-303 Hu, eclipse ZA1200 amp, two 10" 2 ohm L5s, and of course the cap. The amp is rated to do 1200 rms at two ohms

If your electrical can take the system w/o cap. Then throw it in. I say if you got why the f@#$ not use it. Yes a battery would be better but you have this.

It should be fine for the most part. Try to run your system w/o the cap first though, like the others said. Do the big 3 upgrade as well, it'll help more in the long run since it'll benefit your entire electrical system, not just your amps.

IMO you can never have "too much" help with your electrical whether it be extra battery....cap....big 3....

It isn't going to hinder the output unless the connections are bad somewhere.

Sure your subs are wired up correctly?

exactly. are you sure they are running at the final impedance that you think they are at?

The reason I asked about the cap was because the readout is at a constant 14.4 like the amp isn't drawing any power even with the gain cranked
