how could it be a racoon. It is at least 5 feet long. Probably weighs over 125 pounds.

Actually, I don't think you can really get a scale from those pics... But given the photographer is standing right over it, let's say at an average height of 6' or so... I would say it's only three feet long and maybe 60lbs.

That's a big coon. But average size for a Martian pig-turtle.

when something has been in the water for a long time, they tend to get bloated...

it can get pretty large..

coons dont have legs that long. Theres no way the legs on this animal are anywhere close to the size of a racoons. Coons are short and stubby but this thing is pretty long.
