Another help picking the sub thread!!

Anyways--heres what I got currently in my 2004 Civic EX Coupe

HU--Pioneer 880

Front Speakers--Rainbow SLC 265's

Rear Speakers--Rainbow SL 165's

Amp--JL 300/4

Second skin in the doors

Amp for sub I don't have yet--Memphis 16-MCD500D 500x1 @ 2ohm

OK heres what I'm looking for--a SINGLE 10 or 12inch that can go in a small box and can run at 2ohms. Im going for a "clean" system and can spend $250 tops but would like something $150-$200. Living in AK the only subs I have heard are JLW3's and 0's, MTX, RF, Infinity and other normal brands. I would like to stay away from the mainstream so help me pick a sub!! The stuff I have bought so far is from recommendations from people on here. Thanks

The JL w3v2s are quite clean and are a huge upgrade over the 1st gen W3s, also check IDMAX and crystal mobile sound CMP are my 3 favs as far as a good clean sub with competition level SPL. PS its been about 2-3 years since I have been on this site lol nice to be back.

Looked at the site and the SSD12 but am confused exactly what I need to run at 2ohms. Whats the difference between the dual 1 and dual 2 and what does the flatwind coil do.

You need a dual 1. Wire it in series to get a two ohm load...

Flatwound voice coil simply means its a non-linear coil. Its just a way how the voice coil is wound.

If you are going to run it on an amp that needs 2 ohms, get the dual 1 ohm VC setup

Got some options I havent seen yet. Anyone have experience with a 12inch Arsenal Sub or Dayton subs---are they good for sq and would my amp work good with them?
