Another Box Build for IonSQL

Very nice box.
How well do you think the kerfed edges would hold up if you burped at 2k or so?
I dont see why it wouldnt. After the pieces are kerfed and bent, the cuts close up completely due to the bend. I fill it in with wood glue BEFORE I bend it. So really, I dont see why it wont. BUT we will find out for sure eventually.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.

Sorry forgot to address the paint procedure. It was rolled on. No primer. i hit it with 3 coats. fairly simple.
sweet thanks!

I've used high build auto primer and the rattle can hammered spray from HD with good results. Just make sure you let it cure all the way before trying to do anything with it. It takes close to 24hrs to cure.
good to know because all i can find is the spray.

very nice, kinda wish i would of had the flared ports.... the box u made me is great, arrived in fine condition, i just bought a new vehicle so i'm in the process of moving everything over to the new car...hope to have everything all hooked up by the end of the week. i'll get u some pics when i can //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Just remember that when using a high power woofer in

an enclosure with Kerf Cut bends they have to be rienforced

on the inside radius with fiberglass resin and some matting..

I have seen them split from the preasure inside the enclosure

other than that NICE build..you picked up on that one really fast:graduate:

Before I bent it, I filled in all the kerf cuts with glue Then when it was bent, it worked out where there were no gaps on the inside so its basically a solid piece now. Think there may be a problem with that.? I beat on it pretty hard with my palm and it appeared pretty strong.

as long as the cuts are full of glue you should be fine....

a little trick I learned is to take some fiberglass resin and let

it thicken up a bit in the cuts before you bend it....this way it

leaves no gaps and when cured the bend is stronger than the

MDF itself....(use lots of hardener)
