Hey guys,
Just signed up finally, been following this forum for a while now, Im a huge car audio enthusiast. Been doing my own since i was 15 illegaly driving, but anways let me jump in and shoot to the point. I got me an 06 crew cab silverado LT 1500 recently and i started my audio build on it. During my build i went cheap on the speakers just to get by, but now im ready to step this up another level. What im running for door speakers are some Alpine SPS-510 Type S. Not what i had planned on using but my budget was hitting a dry spot. and if i am correct (please correct me if i am wrong) When i installed my speakers i installed an aftermarket Head Unit which is a Pionner AVH-X1600 with the PAC harness which keeps the bose and onstar intact, therefore im powering my speakers through the Bose Amp, not the headunit. Like i said correct me if i am wrong. Still learning some new stuff here and there, trial and errors. Now purchased me some MB Quart PVM116 coaxial speakers for the doors to replace the apline SPS-510's, I want to amplify my speakers with an aftermarket Amp, but im curious if anyone has used the stock speaker wiring to power them. Not I what i intend to do, but Im just wondering if anyone has done it, and how do they perform? Im pretty sure everyone is going to want to advise me to run new 12 guage speaker throughout the whole truck. But feedback is nice. Thanks
