Soundstream rules BIG TIME!!!

Just got my hands on a brand new PIC2.880 ... That's 2 X 220 WRMS @ 4 OHMS and 2 X 440 @ 2OHMs baby...

It rocks my subs!!! (Infinity Perfect 12.1D)

I'm also loving PPI... Just got a PPI PCX-480 off ebay for 225$

I think they both rock... Both around the 200$ limit I had fixed myself...

I agree, soundstream amp are awesome, specifically the older reference amps. They sound soooooooooo smooth. Love em!

what do you guys think about audiopipe... i think they're kinda new but they're sposed to be excellent.

Audiopipe has been around for years. Their subs and amps are midgrade at best. However, just like with any other brand, the sound you get will largly depend on the entire setup of your system. Audiopipe does have some subs that hit pretty hard and are not bad for a beginner setup. Remember you get what you pay for. Same thing about their amps. Look at the rms ratings not the max/peak ratings. They appear to be sort of weak. Their D Class amps are pretty expensive, I havent had the oppertunity to see/hear one so I cant comment on whether they are decent or not.

I'd just like to mention that while zapco seems nice(and they truely are) they are overrated. There is a known defect that affects some amps that causes random static and require a simple swap of a button that is done free of charge. It has happened to both my amps though so it kind of lowered my opinion of them. I must say though, the zapco amps can put out a crapload of power and then some.

I love(d) my Soundstream Reference 6.0. 600W @1/4ohm! Not that I ever drove it at that level, but at least 4-600w @ 1ohm was well within its comfort zone!

They are EXTREMELY over-rated in power. The typical 1000 watt Pyramid amp MIGHT optimally produce a "real" 200 watts. As long as you understand that I believe they're decent amps, but generally when you compare power for power there are better buys out there.

Not sure, haven't heard one. But just as Pyramid - cheap amps are usually not nearly as poweful as they claim to be.

Pyramid does have a decent 1200 Class D amp. I cant recall the model number but it has the same board as the Lanzar Vibe 1200d.
