***turn offf *****

so the past 2 days when i first start my car for the first time since the previous day it has barely turned over due to drained battery, i realized my amps arnt turning off, unless i unhook my speaker amp from battery, both amps are connected to my 2 red tops in the trunk. i took out the head unit today and checked to see if tthe remote lead came undone, but it didnt, and i used a dmm and checked the remote wire on the rca(built in) and there was power with the car off and keys not in ignition, so something has gone wrong in the past couple days and thoughts?

one of the positive wires going into the amps power input isnt touching the remote wire by chance, is it?

Also, what color is the wire on the back of the HU that your remote wire is hooked up to?

blue i think it has a tag on it from fact. saying romote:laugh:

just checked no strays at both amps, but i unhooked my remote on my sub amp, and my speaker amp was on (tied in to same remote) and i checked at the HU and the rca remote lead up front wasnt attached to my HU remote so i used the dmm with music plaaying and theres no voltage on my HU remote lead could something have blown at the HU?

Never know, if some stray voltage was fed up there then something possible could have gone wrong.

It's probably a pain in the arse, but pics always help. Maybe one of your amps has something wrong with the rem terminal and is feeding voltage through the terminal. Although you say this is something new.

So if I'm right, your "speaker" amp is on when the remote wire at the HU isn't connected?

correct when everything is all together in working order i have my knu rcas with built in remote connected to hu remote fed thru left side of car up into the trunk then the rca plugs into my orion sub amp as well as the remote wire then i have seperate alpine rcas for my kicker speaker amp and i have a "jumper" wire from the orion to the kicker amp prob should use a relay but its never had a problem before.

now i had rca remote and hu remote up front disconnected and took out the remote on the orion and the speaker amp was still on as the knu rca and jumper are twisted together. it has to be the HU becasue theres no voltage from the remote

it could be your ground wire i know this sounds wack but if i unhook a ground on one of my amps i will turn on somehow by grounding through the rca,s and this is when the key is off so you might have the same thing going on.
