amps stopped working, help needed

Hi.my system consists of a sony head unit, sony underseat sub woofer with build in amp and a sony amp for the rear speakers and sub woofer. For some reason the underseat woofer and the amp have stopped working. I have looked at the wiring and power is getting to the sub woofer and amp and stands at 12volts. There is a reading of .9v to the remote power control. My question is would it be ok to take a lead dirrect from the + side of the battery and cut this in to the remote cable to see if that is the fault. If not what can I do to find the fault. Yea thats okay to test the amp. The remote should be at 12v positive. But I would check into the remote wire first and see why its at .9

Hi.just an update.connected a direct 12volt feed to the remote cable.the hand held remote of the underseat woofer turned blue therefore showing power to the unit.but there was still no sound. Is there something I can check on the head unit.i have sound from the front none amplifier speakers.

Get a rfa to 3.5mm jack cord. Play music from your phone to amp and see does the sub make noise
