What brands of Amps are made in Japan ? The high dollar stuff shouldn't be from China, and if it is I avoid it.

Thats very narrow-minded. China can make fantastic quality stuff. They can also make garbage. It all comes down to quality control.

even if you find a amplifier that is made in Japan or the USA, that a fairly large percentage of the components inside it are going to be from China or India.

Narrow-minded ? That's a retarded statement ! Then you follow that up by admitting China products have problems. I prefer not to buy China products when there are other choices. If you can't answer my question then don't make narrow minded remarks just because your amp is from China.

My amps aren't made in China...

Made in Italy you animated cumstain.

"made in USA" or "made in Japan" or "made in Germany" doesn't equal quality. Quality equipment comes from companies that hold the factory to a high level of quality control.

You want a made in Japan amp, go buy an alpine Pdx series from eBay and be done with it. Your question can be answered with a simple Google search, especially since you don't want any kind of discussion or information exchange.

Lots of high end stuff from China these days and nothing wrong with it as long as they use quality components. Lots of Chinese amplifiers have Japanese and South Korean parts in them.

Main thing as Mat said the QC has to be up to snuff otherwise you end up with garbage like Boss and what not.

If you think any of the big name brands that use Chinese warehouses don't do research/inspections or even possibly visit them via teleconference or in person you would be wrong.

informatiom is why I'm here. That's it. Isn't Kicker considered A quality product ? I bought A brand new Kicker 5 channel that lasted about 1 year. So I'm not buying anything from China . That's my choice. It makes no sense to thrash me over it, huh Matt? Hell, Im using A QSC Amp for my home setup while my Mcintosh is in the shop. And it sounds real good...but there's nothing like a Mac !

Mcintosh while the older stuff is up to quality they just recently got back into the car audio game. Haven't seen much of those even on DIYMA running around just yet.

Then your choice is to go to a South Korean amplifier.

So you're saying that all Kicker amps will fail after 1 year or that prior to them moving manufacturing to China 20+ years ago their amps never failed? Have you even ruled out user error for that amp's premature failure?

If you think a Japanese made amplifier is your silver bullet here you'll be shopping at an antique store and will be limiting your choices to about 2 brands and only a handful of product lines I think.

Really there are some compelling reasons to chose one amp over another but you have yet to get close to any of them.

Honestly I have ran a ton of zx amps from kicker only two ever failed one with the baby pouring a slushie in it and the other from user error I don't care for the kx line but that old school zx line worked well

ZX line was made in China and I had good luck with the couple I used. Not even sure if the ZR line before that was American made, probably not.
