ok i posted last night about how out of nowhere both of my amps went into protect mode. let it rest for the night, then today on my way to work, i turned it up. only 28/30. i usually listen to itat 30 with no problems. the amps shut off still, even when the subs arent being pushed hard. i have no idea where to start, i was thinking maybe i blew a fuse, but if so, wouldnt they not come back on? all i can think of is to check fuses, and wiring. but other than that i have no clue.

what happens is, the amps shut off for about 10 seconds then come back on, but they only shut off if im listening to the radio up high enough for it to produce decent bass notes, if its at around 20-23 its fine. but thats not where i listen to it at, everything is set for 28-30. and redoing my gains for a lower level wont help, so dont suggest it. i gurantee the amps will still shuit off.

any suggestions?

both amps? are they strapped? If so, unstrap them and see what happens. If they aren't strapped, and you use a d-block, check the ground and power, then look at the RCA, maybe when something starts to shake a litlte, something shorts?

ok i will. no not strapped. KX600.1 and EA2000. mono and 2ch

i use a busbar, i doubt anything is loose there. although i did noticed theres a little copper showing under the hood, where the wire connects to the fuseblock. it rained pretty bad last night, maybe water got up on the wire from a puddle, uthink?

It's possible. If you get the time, get your alternator checked at a local auto parts store. Your alt. may not be putting out enough amperage anymore. I had this happen before, I had enough amperage to power the truck, but once the headunit (I had a 600WRMS system), I noticed the voltage would drop fairly quickly.

yeah ive been having voltage problems. the amps have never shut off tho, the subs would just stop playing. maybe it was the mono shutting off, cant really see while im driving. i just thought the bass was cutting out

Well if you know you've been having voltage problems then why not tell the people who are trying to help you figure it out? Buy a dmm and learn how to use it would be a start...what are you getting for voltage at the battery...how about at the fuse block?
