eD rocks :)
Alright, here is what I have now, and below is what I plan on ending up with:
Rear speakers are Infinity Kappa 6x9s 115 watts rms
Sub is Infinity Perfect 12.1 in a sealed box. 350 watts rms
I have one factory speaker in my right door that occasionally makes sad and limping noises. I have no idea what it's rating is except that it is blown, blown, blown.
Powering the sub and the rears is a Soundstorm Stretch Daddy amplifier. Their 2000watt four channel one. This amp doesn't do bad for what I paid, but it starts distorting at about 80% of the head unit's max volume.
Now, I will soon be making a custom sealed box out of the best 1" thick board money can buy. This will house two 12" subs in it.
So, the system will soon be two 12" infinity perfect subs wired at 2 ohms mono. They can handle 350 watts RMS
Two infinity kappa 6x9s that can handle 115watts rms
Two infinity kappa 4.25"s that can handle 75 watts rms.
Now, I am looking for two amps (maybe three) that will power my speakers really really well.
After some research I have been thinking about going with the Tsunami DB1100 (1x650wrms@2ohms) for the subs. Either that or the JBL 1200.1(1x600wrms@2ohms).
For the mids and highs I was looking at either the AXT 800.4 (4x125wrms@4 ohms) or the Blaupunkt PA 4100 (4x100wrms@4 ohms)
One final kinda crazy idea I had was to buy one amp for the 6x9s and one for the 4.25s. Kinda of a fun idea, but I'm not sure how practical.
Let me know what you think, or post your own ideas for my setup. Any input appreciated.
Oh yeah, I can get the tsunami for about $240, the JBL for about $200, the PA 4100 for about $300 and the AXT 800.4 for about $300.
Thanks,
Lexi
