amplifier protect mode..?

im having a problem with one of my amps.. i was redoing my whole trunk since i got my new sub amp, went to turn on everything and my JBL goes straight into protect and slowly fades off completely... (usually stays on in protect if there is a problem)

worked fine a week ago, never wired it up wrong or anything... i've pretty much tried everything but maybe there is something someone can think of?

I know this sounds simple but your ground is still well connected?

And by "redo" you mean you undid all of the wires in your trunk?

Does the amp power up at all after it faded the first time?

no never.. and all other amps turn on fine...

EDIT: turns out the power light is messed up... i assumed it was never turning on.. so i never tried it with speakers lol
