amplifier power difference

im currently running a Mobile Authority a1002 amplifier. this amp is rated at 1000 watts. now i know that this most likely isn't true wattage so my question is this. would i notice a difference if i changed from this amp (which im running at 1000 watts into my sub) to something in the ways of a JBL p600.1 or so? if i did notice a difference, would it be in SPL or more in sound quality?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

Yeah that would be my guess too ^^

I think the under-ratedness of the jbl compared to the over-ratedness of the Mobile Auth would net about the same actual power.

that's just the information i needed

im buying a jbl bp600.1 mainly for the reason that it's about half the size of the mobile authority, and when you have a hatchback, you need all the room you can spare.

on a seperate note, im also getting a new deck. im looking at either a jvc sh77 or a clarion dxz615/715. featurewise they're both almost the same, but i just dont know which one is better in terms of quality if there's a difference. any recommendations? basically, that's the price range im trying to stay near, so if you can think of any other decks that you think are better, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I love those clarion players. I've had my eye on them on ebay. Occasionally one will get through for just a little over 100 plus shipping.

I've read some bad feedback on the jvc's here and there, nothing but good about clarion, but I don't have any 1st hand experience.

after careful debating, i've decided to go with a Sony cdx-m730. its one of the newer models and it seems to have all the features i need. it also has DETACHABLE active black panel. if it wasnt detachable, i'd be stupid for buying one. and the built in amp has pretty decent power. it seems like a good choice. anyways, thanks for all your info.
