Amplifier keeps shutting off randomly...

So I was cruising around one day amplifier shut off not protect I mean shut off completely... I turn the volume down kicks back on did this a few times off and on then ran fine for a long time. Well today it started doing it again so I'm like **** this got out amplifier was off no lights period, checked the ground it was solid hasnt moved since 3 systems ago. So I go upfront and the wire from the battery to the fuse block is really hot and smelly so I'm wondering why this would happen? It's 0 gauge and a 300a fuse block. I recently had it so hot the wire burnt and i had to cut back some of the wire to use it. So my question is why would it do this? It's just a Crescendo 2k with no clipping my voltage is always 13-14.4v and I only play while driving @ 1.8-2k rpms.

Do I need new wire/fuse block or what?

voltage spike or the power wire may be starting to ground out somewhere
Voltages don't really go low enough to spike so could you elaborate on that? and a possible short could be the problem as I have been getting shocked when I get out of the car sometimes but the wire is ran under the carpet and i dont see how it could be shorting. I also used a gromet for the firewall hole.

Ok so if its not the wire itself when I check what would be the next thing? I'm going to tear my old 0 gauge out use it as a big III wire and probably order 20ft of KnuKonceptz 0/1 and a Bushing and new Fuse Block.

should get my wire ,it's bigger .maybe replace the remote with a different one recheck the grounds to

Also the wire only heats up between the battery and fuse block I checked all the other wiring and it doesnt get hot there only that spot. and its only after long plays at full tilt and it has only actually burned the wire once. I'm going to get a better gromet/wire/fuse block because I've been using what I have for years and it was on the cheap.

Yeah looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me. and what is the price of your wire is it OFC or whatnot? true 0 gauge? I could just go on ebay and buy some for cheap but I want quality. I'll rechecked my grounds and remote.

Ok so instead of it doing it off and on like before it does it everytime I turn the bass up on the bass knob now it will start on it I dont bump and just have the amp on but the second I turn my knob up the amp shuts off wtf gives?!

I'm running 0gauge to the rear then a distro for 2 4 gauges (cause I was running a 4 channel.) and then 4 gauge to my Crescendo 2k the wire is maybe 3-4ft long if that. Could that be it or what? Also when I installed my system the Remote on the head unit wasnt putting out enough power for some reason to turn the amp on so i had to splice into something else but I don'tthink it's that.

This **** was working all fine for the last like 4 months and had little problems I installed it very well and took my time I have no idea wtf is going on.
