i just installed my amp (hifonics brutus bx1500d) and i turned on my car and headunit and my amp just started smoking can someone tell me what i did wrong

voltage spike. fried the amp. did you fuse before amp as well as the battery? could've also grounded itself out internally..

don't turn car on. insert fuse, then turn car on. that's how i fried my kx1200.1. i had my car on, and flipped my circuit breaker and saw smoke coming out of the amps vents. big no no.

so after you have everything wired through the car you take out the fuses in the amp and then turn the car on?

wait no. leave the fuses in the amps. make sure you place the fuse at the battery in line as well BEFORE turning on the car. DO NOT remove the fuses from your amp.

WHAT TEH EFF? You do not want to ever run your equipment without a fuse. You especially do not want to start your vehicle without a fuse, the voltage jumps to provide power for start-up. He said to insert fuse BEFORE you start the vehicle.

oh well i didnt get what you were saying i had that fuse in already and then i started my car and everything started to flicker and i heard my amp crackling and it was smoking
