Well I just installed my new HX2's, with a JBL BP600.1 amp. The wiring was already ran through out the car, because I had an Audiobahn A8002T amp before this and had no problems. With that in mind, my amp will not turn off with my head unit, and even stays on when my car is off. The remote is wired correctly, do not suggest that please. I checked my HU manual and soldered the correct wire, and it worked fine with the amp prior to this. But my head unit has an anti theft light that stays on after the face is removed, could this small amount of power be keeping my amp on? Any ideas?.. Could I install a switch to the remot of the amp?

Used, bought from a guy on here. When I pulled the remote from the amp, while the car was off, the amp shut off. So there must be a current going through there while the cars off, correct? Could a switch fix this?

A switch would circumvent the real problem. Obviously there is something going on somewhere that isn't right.....and you'd be better off figuring out what that is.

Grab a DMM and with the car off measure the REM wire. It should have no voltage with the radio off.

There is current going thru the remote wire....Try connecting it to the other remote(it it has one) and see what happens!

Well I do not have access to a DMM at the moment, need to contact my friend. But as I said there is an anti theft light, would there be a current going through the remote line with this?

If you connected it right, there should be no current going threw it with the radio off...

I assume you mean "if" is has one, and no my HU only has one remote output, other than the power antenna. Both are blue, but I checked the manual and I have it wired correctly.

And as I said, this did not happen with my previous amp; could my new amp have a low sensitivity for the remote wire?

What I meant by that was the remote is wired to the correct wire, I did not want suggestions to wire it to another wire.

Nope.

Try to get your self a DMM. Walmart for 15 bucks. By the Car Electrical section. Where they keep the car light bulbs and crap...

Have you messed with the HU, like take it out change any wires or anything like that since you had your prior amp! Do you have another amp that you can install (temp) to see if the same thing happens.

A small 12v automotive bulb wiil work to check for power, just tape or solder a wire to positive and ground. Hook the ground wire to a ground and touch the positive to the remote on wire, if the bulb lights up theres power.

Use a small interior bulb, that remote on wire has very little current.

I have seen a case where the amplifier had somthing go bad inside so it would not respond to the remote input, it just stayed on all the time, kinda like a relay stuck in the on position. You could completely disconnect the remote input and it would still be on. In this case you're amp will need serviced.
