Amplifier/Head unit question...

I have a double din phase linear dvd/cd player in my car from circuit city and i just got my sundown sae1200d amp for my subs...

In the "tutorial" paper that came with my amp that says how to set my gains it says to set the gain till i get 35 volts but the gain is all the way up and i still only have around 25-27 volts...

my question is should i just get a new head unit or just higher the bass boost on the back of the amp? but i dont think the bass boost highers the voltage but just adds bass... thats why i didnt really wanna do that

You need to tell us what kind of subs you're running, how many you are running and the VC configuration they have.

2 12 inch type R's dual voice coil 4 ohms... im running them at 1 ohm

did you turn the volume up to 90% of max and turned off your filters?

That amp is rated at 1200 watts rms at 12.8v I believe. If that's the case then your HU must **** balls or your electrical is horrible.

34.64v should be no problem. I have to agree with a previous post that recommended a line driver.

i have a 95 legend and the only thing not stock is the battery and its not even a yellw top and my head unit... its prally a combination of both... this is the head unit
