Amplifier Gain Help!

I have a Quantum Audio 1000 watt amp and a Kicker CVR 12 sub. I can't get 41 AC volts when setting the gain with a DMM. The highest I get is 36 volts. Should I leave the gain maxed out at 36 volts or how else should I set the gain?

List the Specs of the Amp... i.e. The RMS output at each ohm load it is rated at

Also I assume your CVR is a dual 4 ohm correct?

Jer, you need to accept the fact that it's over-rated.

$150 class a/b's with 2x30's don't do 1000w.

Besides, you don't want 1000w to a CVR anyway.

I would set it for 400 personally, maybe 500 but that sub doesn't need any more than that ported. Your target voltage should be about 32v (sqrt(500*2)).
