Amplifier for my kickin' sub

ok so we just hooked it up to my bros amp he has a kicker and it worked fine but we had to slowly go up on the wattage cuz he said when u have a new sub u have to try low watts first and then go up slowly until it sounds good. but then he said his amp is way too powerful for my sub so i still have no idea what to do

IS THIS A TEST ? bro u have to know how much power your sendin to your sub. i mean u have to set the low pass and gain and no bass boost at all . u dont want to blow the sub. What are u guys doin over there ?

I think the HK4000d is rated 50 watts at 4 ohms. Get one of them and you won't have to worry about overpowering the sub.
