Amp wiring question?

I'm trying to install 2 12in subs but my blue wire on my hu is already connected to the wiringing harness that turns on my stock amp and sub. People told me to still connect the remote wire from my new amp to the blue wire. How do I connect 1 wire to 2?

Can I twist the 2 wires together and crimp it to the blue wire?

Keep the two that are connected already and then use a t tap to connect it to that wire and the one for your amp
