Amp wiring question

Would it harm my amp (JL amp 500x1) if I used 0 gauge to wire it. I already have it around and will use it if it won't cause any problems.

My local shop has a gauge reducer to go from 0 to 4 gauge

No you will not harm at 0ga. Either use reducers or, if your amp has terminals that support, use ring terminals so the 0ga isn't getting crammed into the terminal. Just means you'll have more availability for current draw than what that amp requires.
