amp\wiring question for my jl 12w6v3-d4

Hi i have a 09 tl and I just bought a 12 W 6 v 3-d4 JL sub in a ported enclosure. it came with a VOLFENHAG ZX-5161 2-Channel 1000W Element-5 Bridgeable power Amplifier,and a PAC SOEM-T 2-Channel Premium Line-Out Converter with Remote Turn-On Trigger my questions are this: is The amp sufficient for this subwoofer (if not what would you recommend) and what gauge wiring would you recommend for the power line and what kind of fuse thanks in advance guys.

nah that amp will prob be okay to run your speakers, but i'd suggest a bigger monoblock amp for your sub, also i'd suggest 4gauge minimum for your wiring (best of with 0 gauge)

I'm keeping the els speakers for the time being the amp is for the subOh also I know the hd750 would be a good choice but I'm looking for something more affordable assuming the volfenvag isn't sufficient

hang on i'll have a look at the amp specs, google is your friend..... it only has one 25a fuse in the amp, and it's 1000w max... so it'll prob put around 3/400 watts rms bridged at 4 ohm into your sub. the sub needs a minimum of 250 wrms.

it will work, but i'm only guessing what it's rms rating is

if you Come to the conclusion I should run a different amp do you have one you would recommend that would work for it?

Completely true, that amp is not even close to enough for that sub.
