Hi,
I'm attempting to wire my head unit to 2 amps. I have the RCA wiring down, and pretty sure I've got the remote turn on done, my question comes to the actual power wiring.
I have 2 amps. One Pioneer GM-D9500F and one Pioneer GM-D8500M (monoblock).
The specs for both amps are as below:
GM-D9500F:
14.4V DC
current consumption: 25A
Average current draw: 7.9A at 4ohm for 4 channels
75W RMS x 4 @ 4ohm
Fuse: 40A x 1
GM-D8500M:
14.4V DC
current consumption: 27A
Average current draw: 7.5A for 1 channel @ 4ohm
300W RMS x 1 @ 4ohm
Fuse: 30A x 2
I want to run a single power cable from the battery (roughly 5 metres/16ft), with an inline fuse about 6-12 inches from the positive terminal, then running through the car into the boot, where it runs into a fused 1 in, 2 out distribution block. The 2 outputs at the distribution block will run into each amp, then each amp will be grounded separately.
My questions are:
Judging by the specs, what fuse rating should the inline fuse be?
What rating should each fuse be from the distribution block (I'm assuming they'll differ)
and What AWG wire should i use from the battery, then from the distribution block to amps?
I was thinking considering the 9500F has a 40A fuse in it, and the 8500M 2x30A, then its 100A total, so 100A inline fuse at battery, then a 40A fuse on one part of the distribution block, to the 9500F, and 60A to the other, on a 4 AWG wire?
Sorry for no pics, it wouldnt let me link URL or images.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
