amp voltage question

I just got and installed a Kenwood Kac-X811D amp, it has a volt meter on it, are these accurate?

It says 15 volts then drops to 14.1 on hard bass hits.

seems like its ok to me but I am unsure of the 15 volt reading, thought cars could only make 14.4 volts.

cars will put out more volts when cold.

put a voltmeter on the battery

ya, your best bet is to check it right at the terminals with a dmm, thats goign to be the most accurate reading anyway
