amp upgrade over JL?

Okay...

Want to upgrade my amp.....

Here's what I have:

I have 2 sets of components in my 4 doors;

rears = Focal Utopia 5.25"

Fronts = Focal K2p 6.5"

My amp is a JL 450/4 ------

I also have a JL 250/1 pushing a 10" JL sub but I like that the way it is....

What could I upgrade my JL 450/4 with?

Price limit --- around $1000

Not to be a party-crasher but why exactly are you wanting to get away from the 450/4? Outside of rather extreme retail pricing the JL slash-series amps are built like tanks and sound pretty freggin' good when played through accurate speakers.

jl amps are very sterile... its ok if you're into rap and similar music but there are plenty of amps out there that sound different. i prefer a warm sound, ie dls or zapco.

go for a zapco ref dc. they will cater to whatever sound you want.

yes either the arc or zapco, u will be satisfied over the jl my friend not to bash or anything

i have had better luck with zapco over arc. arc tends to shut off after extended periods of serious abuse.

look intop tru as well, great stuff that is bullet proof. us amps is another one of my choices
