Amp turning on

Ive had the same system in my car for more than 5 years and have never had a problem until now. My system kept draining my battery so I looked into getting a on/off switch so I did and it worked great for 6 months. Now when I turn the switch on the amp stays off. But if I leave the switch on over night my amp will eventually turn on but will drain my battery. So just wondering if anyone knows what the issue might be?

haha its not a bad capacitor thats a silly thing to say it would be the switch its self try replacing that and if it still does it then there is something else shorting out inside the amplifier which would be something else

Just run a small jumper wire between the 12V power and the remote turn on input on the amp. If the amp does not turn on immediately then you know it is a problem with the amp itself. I couldn't imagine a simple 2 pole switch would just go bad after 6months. There isn't much to them.
