I dont know whats wrong with my amp, its not doing anything. I checked the fuses and grounds they should be ok, When the RCAs are plugged in I actually get buzzing in my 6x9's but those arent running off the amp, the amp and subs do nothing. I'm running to kenwood 10's in stereo off a two channel kenwwod amp. HU to amp, amp to speakers, power /ground, nothing from the subs, any advice will be much appreciated

Hey man thanks for the reply. No I have not yet conquered the problem, mostly because I had to go to work. Today I did buy a few accessories to help me figure it all out. Firstly a voltage meter. I dont think the amp is coming on at all. So, I'll have to start buy changing the ground. Actually there are two grounds on this amp, one at the input area, and one at the output area. This is my first install, so if I sound like an idiot, please correct me. My ground is connected to the one at the input side (the other side is just a screw in ground), since its not wired to another amp, and I'm not using the speaker level out. The other side has the batt, then ground, the RCAS and the speaker connection. After I switch the ground again, I'll screw with the remote wire location, it was first connected to the remote wire connection on the head units factory harness, but I also tried the power ant cable (I did also use a harness for the hook up). After I try the ground I'll move on to check the power with the voltage meter (if no power, then I have another problem all together). If the power cable does have power, I'll move on to check the remote wire for power (if no power, at the amp, then I need to check the wire by building a jumper from the remote hook up to the amp, or the power ant to the amp then I have to find a new remote turn on location, any suggestions?) If none of that does anything, then my problems continue, and I will suspect a fuse problem. If, that doesnt work, then I'll need to test my circuit with another amp from somewhere else. Is this a good strategy? Also, I have the 4 guage power wire to a power distributor first, is there another way to hook the 4 guage power wire up to the amp, so I have a direct connection, it seems much to large to connect there? Your help is greatly appreciated. Oh, the head unit is new. Thanks Again, Jason. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

WAIT A MINUTE. You should only have 1 ground. You connect it to the terminal that is in the same bank as the positive and the remote terminals. Don't ground the inputs OR the speaker wires. You should connect 12V+ from the battery to the positive POWER terminal on the AMP. Next connect a car body ground to the negitive POWER terminal on the amp. Then the remote from the HU harness. If the amp doesn't turn on. Use the volt meter and test ACROSS the positive and negitive of the power terminals. Look for something in the 12-14.4v range. Then test the remote terminal of the amp by testing across the ground and the turn-on [remote] terminal. Look for 12-14v there too. Then you'll see what not getting power. Instead off guessing with the remote wires and power wires. Don't be connecting the ground too the inputs or speaker terminals amps don't like that

I have the ground installed properly, the problem is either with power of remote line. I tried another ground location. I think I purchesed the wrong tester. I bought this probe one that looks like a screwdirver. I thought I'd just have to probe and watch the light come on to find out if I have power. But i still got nothing, even at the battery, so I must have bought the wrong thing, can you tell me more about the voltage testers and how to use them?Jason

if your going to use a test light it has to be a 12v type. Stop playing with your ground UNTILL you know what's wrong. It's a waste of time. check the package to see if it's a 12v type. If not return it and get one. You cann't trouble shoot until then.

this should help you go over your connections.

FROM HU,

RCA JACKS FROM HU TO INPUT ON AMP.

POWER ANTENNA(BLUE) FROM HU HARNESS(NORMALY BLUE WITH WHITE STRIPE) TO REM 12V+ TERMINAL ON AMP.

FROM BATTERY,

4-GAUGE POWER WIRE(NORMALY RED) TO FUSIBLE LINK, OR DISTRIBUTION BLOCK ,TO12V+ TERMINAL ON AMP.

FROM AMP,

4-GAUGE GROUND WIRE(NORMALY BLACK) FROM NEGATIVE TERMINAL ON AMP(BESIDE 12V+ AND REM 12V+ TERMINALS) TO A GOOD CLEAN CONNECTION ON YOUR VEHICLES BODY(NO PAINT OR CARPET ALLOWED HERE:).)

OUTPUT SPEAKER TERMINALS TO SPEAKERS.

REMBER TO CHECK ALL OF YOUR FUSES AND TO TEST YOUR CONNECTIONS WITH YOUR LIGHT TESTER. THESE ARE THE BASIC CONNECTIONS TO PRODUCE

NOISE. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, FEEL FREE TO SMASH YOUR STUFF WITH A HAMMER AND THEN SET IT ON FIRE:) OR MAYBE THE AMP COULD BE BAD. ALWAYS GOOD TO BUY WARRANTIES WITH ELECTRONICS

GOODLUCK:)

Thanks for all the replies and help, the job is done, for now, as always right? Noe that everythings working, I'm thinking of some creative additions, to change the look. My friends are telling me I did a really professional installation for my first time, and I owe it to you guys, I'll send photos of my work when the job is complete. I need to build a support structure and make it look good, brace things, sound deaden a bit. I want the truck to look really nice so, you'll see it when I post it. Thanks, Jason:D
