Amp to Speaker Problem

Hi everyone, I have a 250 watt amp that i am trying to run to my two rear speakers. Everything is hooked up and the amp is powered. I hooked it up to an old pair of subs to see if that would work and it would power them, it worked. I hooked my wires up the the left rear speaker and there is nothing coming out of the speaker except for a feint buzzing sound. Any idea on the problem?

try hooking up to another speaker and see if you still have the same problem..

Speakers are fine

maybe it is a sub amp and you are connecting it to a speaker with a built on crossover
