Amp to run with 2 12'' Kicker L7's at 4ohms

I just remembered Alpine MRP amps would do 1000w at 2 and 4 ohm. If you can find one at a deal, snag it and run 4ohm. It would arguably be better than a 1ohm amp for SQ purposes, but I dare say it will cost you.

This one is sold, but something of the like is what I am speaking of Alpine PDX1.1000

That was my next question. I was reading that the newer alpines put the same power out whether they are 2 or 4 ohms. I found one of those earlier for 200 dollars that I thought about getting but didnt know. So would you say to get the alpine that puts out only 500rms to each sub but is at 4 ohms or get the hifonics which puts out 750+ to each sub but only at 1 ohm. Starting to understand more now. Sorry for the stupid questions

I would suggest run the **** subwoofer in 1 ohm like what everybody states.

i would suggest buying an audiopipe 1500 apsm or ssteele is selling a BRZ 1700.1d which is a solid amp

I would say you are going to have a more versatile, cleaner amp in the Alpine than the Hifonics. You are going to have the option to run more power with the Hifonics. It is all about how you want to spend your money.

Some people spend thousands of dollars and don't get "loud". They get as good of signal control as they can out of well built, high impedance amps and efficient, quality drivers. Others spend money on amps that will produce stupid amounts of power, and don't care how inefficiently they produce said power, then put drivers on the amps that will accept stupid amounts of power.

Your individual goals dictate what you should spend your money on than other's opinions. Decide how much you want to compromise SQ to get loud. That's the break point. The louder you try to get while staying clean, the costlier it will be for you.

With that said, don't be worried about running 1ohm daily on a sub stage. It won't kill you.

Kicker L7 are not meant for SQ, they are meant to get loud so get the most power you can get for your money and get loud. you need to get an amp that puts out the wattage it advertises, that's why i suggested the apsm 1500 at $125 and brz 1700.1d with sstele in clasified section

Well either way its going to be way better than the 2 ohm 10 inch pair of cvr I had in there. Maybe I should give up a little power and get more quality. Cause either way it will be loud so maybe getting some quality isnt bad.

what vehicle is this going into? jw.
its going into a jeep wrangler (laugh if you want)

So your recommendation is to get both of those amps? not just the BRZ?

im thinking im going to get a set of old Alpine 1000.1 which are 600rms at 4 ohms and have that power each of them. Or else I might go get the hifonic. decision decisions... i dont want to do the 1 oh because of all the jeep accessories already drawing so much on the battery and 1 ohm draws so much for the electronics too..

Nice man I like the jeep! The stock alternator that came with your vehicle should have plenty of amperage to supply the stock accessories, with a bit of excess. Which hifonics did you end up going with?
