I'm not loud at all?!?
Hey guys... I'm going to be looking for a amp to power my single 15" Kicker L7D2. I was wondering how much power these like in a daily driving environment? I looking to spend approximatly $300 on this amp, maybe a little bit more.

So... how much power do they like? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I've always heard that a true 1000 is a good number... Maybe even a little more... What type/size enclosure do you plan to use?
Planning on a ported enclosure, somewhere around 5 cubes, tuned to 32-34Hz. Not sure on exact design yet, though.

i have a kicker 1200 in perfect condiction $300 shipped pm . me for pictures
Not looking to buy right now... will most likely be purchasing within the next month or so. Just want to get an idea on what to look for power wise.

Thanks for the offer, though.

try and find specs of the sub ported vs sealed power ratings. ported is usaually about half of sealed. most subs are rated for a sealed enclosure. i got 400w going to 2 cvr 12s which are rated at 400 each in a ported box and they are about maxed out. the amp birthsheet stated 521 rms at 14.4v but my lil geo work beater only gets me 13.v at best lol. also good subs usually will handle a little over rated power but the enclosure is the biggest factor in determining how much power they can handle. if you have access to a mic the best way to figure it out is once you can no longer gain spl then thats it. all amps are also diffenent dont go by the numbers as they are decieving. i have alot of amps and had alot over the years. here is an example. i have a punch 360a2 and a punch 100 dsm that i recently sold. 360 was rated at 90w x2 @ 4ohms, the 100dsm rated at 50W x 2 @ 4ohms. the 100 is quite a bit more powerful.

not calling you out or anything but i have never understood this statement, either they can take 1500 or not
How much power they can take is also dependent on the enclosure, music/tone played, and the amount of time played. If you were into spl you would easily recognize this.

I am going to be playing mostly rap... and it is my daily driver so it will see between 1 and 5 hours of use per day... more on long trips. Basically looking for a loud daily driver, that I can take to a comp. every once in a while(if I can find soem around my area).

This is what I am thinking for an enclosure:
