So I have been looking around to upgrade my sub amp. Adding a second jbl w15gti. I was hoping to get an amp that would do around 2000w at 2 ohms since subs will come to 1.5 ohms. Was hoping to overpower a bit. Even though probably don't need to. Problem is the huge current I will need to make that power. I have already upgraded electrical to accommodate what I have and then some. 160 amp alt and kinetic 1800. Was looking at m3, kicker 2500, sundown 2500. Do I really need 200 amps for those of I'm not running them too hard. I'm sure I would be safer with an amp like skar 2000 or something else a bit less power. Maybe 1500 at 2 ohms. The thing is, system is in a 1991 turbo chevy sprint. Very small car and lightweight. Built as a sports car. Running a cs130 gm alt. can probably be upgraded. Not sure about second battery. Might be able to fit one on opposite side of underhood. Whole rear will be box to get the 8' for two subs. Have audison 5.1k under driver seat. 21" long fits perfect so sub amp will go under passenger seat. That makes things nice and simple and less weight in rear. Any ideas?
